Working Principle

The rubber elastomer melt pump operates based on the positive displacement conveying principle. The drive gear rotates via a motor through a reduction gearbox, driving the driven gear. When the gears rotate in the specified direction, the melt enters the tooth cavities of both gears in the feed zone. As the cavity volume gradually increases, a vacuum forms, drawing in the melt. As the gears continue rotating, the melt is conveyed into the delivery zone from both sides. The cavity volume progressively decreases, compressing the melt and propelling it forward. When the gear cavities re-engage, the melt is squeezed out into the discharge zone and forced into the outlet pipe.

Structural Features

Pump Body: Typically made of nitrided steel or tool steel. Internal flow channels undergo mirror finishing to reduce material adhesion and accommodate heat-sensitive materials.

Gears: Featuring straight or helical tooth profiles, these are crafted from tool steel or special alloys. They also undergo mirror finishing to enhance surface smoothness and wear resistance.

Bushings: Typically made from tool steel or special alloys, these components offer excellent wear and corrosion resistance.

Sealing Device: Utilizes spiral external discharge sealing methods to effectively prevent rubber melt leakage under high pressure.

Temperature Control System: Features an external jacket with internal flow channels on the pump housing. The pump shaft is equipped with a rotating joint for cooling water circulation, enabling precise temperature control. Compatible with both electric heating and thermal fluid heating.

Key Features

High-Pressure/High-Viscosity Adaptability: Operates reliably under high pressure (40MPa) and high viscosity (40,000Pa・s) conditions.

Exceptional Surface Finish: Near-mirror smoothness minimizes material adhesion and prevents degradation of heat-sensitive substances.

Precision Temperature Control: Sophisticated structural design and temperature regulation maintain optimal operating ranges.

Self-cleaning function: Optimized flow channels and lubrication system provide efficient self-cleaning, eliminating residual material and dead zones.

Application Fields

Rubber elastomer melt pumps are widely used in the extrusion processing of various natural and synthetic rubbers—including natural rubber, styrene-butadiene rubber, polybutadiene rubber, nitrile rubber, ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber, and chloroprene rubber—as well as specialty elastomers like silicone rubber and heat-sensitive materials such as PVC. They are suitable for producing diverse rubber products including tires, seals, shock-absorbing components, rubber tubing, belts, and sheets.
